FILIPINO COMMUNITY OUTREACH IN JASPER.

During these most unprecedented times, our support to our Filipino community is important now more than ever. The Filipino community in Alberta has been disproportionately affected by this pandemic hence, it has been very challenging for everyone impacted by COVID19 in our community. With our distinct Filipino trait of being resilient in the face of adversity and well-grounded ‘Bayanihan’ spirit (being a hero to one another), we’ve made all these unbearable difficulties a little bit easier.

Since this pandemic emerged, there have been community organized outreaches in Calgary, Brooks, Red Deer, Canmore and Banff by various organizations, businesses and individuals to reach out to our fellow Filipinos who are in dire need of help. Once again, we have seen how our community came together to support one another in many practical and beneficial ways to help overcome these most challenging times.

Inspired by all of these on-going community outreaches, we have taken it upon ourselves to lead and organize an outreach for the Filipinos in Jasper. We’ve learned that there are approximately 500 Filipino families who are directly affected by this pandemic.

As Jasper is expected to open on June 1, 2020, we have communicated with representatives of the Filipino Community in Jasper and coordinated with the local authorities to ensure that this outreach will be as organized and compliant with the protocols and guidelines regarding this pandemic for the safety and well-being of everyone.

Our goal is to provide a sack of rice (8kgs.) for each family only until supply lasts. As of this writing, we are now able to purchase approximately 125 sacks of rice. All contributions (100%) will be used towards the purchase of rice. Should you wish to contribute to this outreach, please feel free to contact any of the following:
